Resources for New Gun Owners

Every year, 400,000 firearms are stolen from individual gun owners. In many cities, the majority of thefts are caused by cars. Protect What Protects You.

According to the National Shooting Sports Foundation, 21 million background checks were conducted for the sale of a firearm in 2020 - a 60 percent increase over the previous year. NSSF also estimates that about 40% of these sales have been to first-time gun owners. Added to this is that Black Americans now account for the highest increase in gun sales of any demographic. With these new gun owners in mind, VSSA has compiled some resources to help new gun owners.
