Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP)
The Scholastic Clay Target Program provides junior and senior high school-age young adults with theopportunity to showcase their competitive shooting skills and earn state and national recognition. The program is designed to instill in participants safe firearms handling, commitment, responsibility, leadership and teamwork.
The Scholastic Clay Target Program began as a cooperative effort between the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF),the firearms industry's largest and most diverse trade association with 1,900 members, and the governing bodies for trapshooting, skeetshooting and sporting clays shooting - the Amateur Trapshooting Association (ATA), the National Skeet Shooting Association (NSSA) and the National Sporting Clays Association (NSCA), respectively. The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) has chosen The Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation, Inc. (SSSF), a 501(c)(3) non-profit educational-athletic organization, to provide the administrative support and direction for the Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP). The NSSF is a major partner with the SSSF and continues to support the SCTP.The SCTP provides the opportunity for boys and girls in the elementary grades through high school to participate in the exciting and challenging sports of trap, skeet and sporting clays in a supportive environment taught by trained and supportive adult coaches focusing on the safe handling and use of firearms. The SCTP provides the opportunity for boys and girls in the elementary grades through high school to participate in the exciting and challenging sports of trap, skeet and sporting clays in a supportive environment taught by trained and supportive adult coaches focusing on the safe handling and use of firearms.
